A Rainy Wedding

On Saturday, April 25th, Catherine & Will said their I Do's to each other in front of family and friends at Keswick Vineyards.  Unfortunately, the weather was less then perfect for their wedding day.  Virginia was experiencing a cold front and rain that day:(  So, what do you do when you have planned for an outdoor wedding and the weather doesn't cooperate with your plans?  You make sure you have a good back up plan and at Keswick Vineyards, we do so the wedding went off and they were married and everything worked out at the end. If you are going to choose to get married outdoors, you need to make sure you have that personality that can just go with the flow if Mother Nature decides not to grant you perfect weather.  As you will see from my photos, everything still turned out picture perfect.  Instead of the ceremony being outdoors near the vineyard, it was brought inside under the Sperry tent.  The dance floor is used to seat about 30 guests while everyone else takes a seat at a table set up for the reception.  A formal aisle is present on the dance floor and the alter is set up as originally planned.  On this day, the clear sides of the tent were kept on to keep the heat inside the tent since it was so cold outside.  After the ceremony guests enjoyed cocktail hour under the tent while Catherine, Will and the rest of the wedding party went outside for photos in covered areas.  While they were out for photos, the tent was arranged back to the "reception" lay-out and the rest of the evening went as planned. Special thanks to all the vendors that had to work a little extra for this wedding but I'm sure Catherine & Will appreciate it as much as I do:  Caterer C&O, DJ John Garland, Photography by Tyler & Ashley of The Herrintons, Videography by Sarah & Justin of Lovell Productions, Blue Ridge Floral Design for flowers, Photo Booth of Charlottesville, Albemarle Limousine for transportation, Wedding Cake by Favorite Cakes, Officiant Reverend James Cobb and Musicians for ceremony/cocktail hour provided by Piedmont Chamber Players.  Click here to see more photos by The Herrintons and read their blog.

Marianne & Tiko's Wedding Day

I personally can't think of a better day to get married!  Marianne & Tiko were married at Keswick Vineyards on Saturday, April 18th, which is also my wedding anniversary, hence the best day to get married comment.  I love that Marianne's song she walked down the aisle to was "our" wedding song also.  Definitely brought back some memories.  The weather was just perfect for their all outdoor wedding.  The men wore black tuxedo's while the bridesmaids gowns were a soft blush color.  Gold was an accent color used throughout the tent mixed with the soft blush color.  Marianne looked amazing in her wedding dress!  Instead of the traditional guest book, Marianne & Tiko had a board with the state of Virginia on it along with their wedding date for guests to sign and leave a note.  What a special keepsake they will have to display in their new home.  Special thanks to the following vendors for doing a wonderful job:  White Birch Events with Cinda Hoege as wedding planner, Catering by The Local, Rentals by MS Events, Officiant Tom Leland, Wedding Cake by Sweet Fix, DJ TD Layman of Sound Enforcement, Photographer Tyler Corvin, Make-up & Hair by Rachel Schrader, Black Creek Florist, Photo Booth of Charlottesville and Ambassador Limousine.

Our 2015 Wedding Season Has Begun!!!

Congratulations to Laura & Justin who were the first couple to get married at Keswick Vineyards for 2015!  They really hit the jackpot with the weather that day.  The skies were clear & blue with the sun shining and a slight breeze.  Wish I could clone that weather for every wedding here.  Unlike the beautiful weather they had, both Laura & Justin had the flu prior to their wedding day.  For the past 4 days they really hadn't eaten and were kept away from everyone else.  Everyone was feeling much better at the rehearsal but not so much the next morning.  Laura's Mother woke up to the flu!  Can you believe that?  What horrible timing.  I don't think anyone plans on that happening and how do you trouble shoot that?  Her Mother rested that morning while everyone else handled the details for her.  When she did arrive she looked amazing!  She ended up going to the doctor that morning and got a shot to stop the nausea feeling, some other meds, and she was good to go!  Thank God!  Speaking of God, these two families have a very strong faith in God and it was present throughout the day.  Justin's brother played the guitar during the ceremony while beautiful hymns were sung.  I especially love how the men came together just before the ceremony to say a prayer for Laura & Justin.  It's nice to witness a wedding that emphasis the importance of God in their ceremony.  My favorite part of this wedding:  I LOVE the bridesmaids bouquets!  They were just baby breath and looked so elegant.  What a wonderful idea.  Special thanks to the following vendors for doing such a wonderful job:  Eric Stamer Catering, Barb Wired Event Planning, DJ Andy Wolfing of Party Masters, Photographer Ali Williamson of Alisandra Photography, Floral Designs by Jacquelyn, Camryn Limousine, Rentals provided by Festive Fare, Officiant Chris Attwell, Desserts by Tamara Fare, Hair & Make-up by First Look Artistry & The Photo Booth Co..  Click here to see Alisandra Photography blog.

Caitlin & Jack Close Out Our 2014 Wedding Season

Congratulations to Caitlin & Jack who, after 3 ½ years, were married at Keswick Vineyards on Saturday, November 8th.

Mother Nature provided them with the peak of fall colors to enhance the beauty of this venue.  Caitlin & Jack decided to hold their ceremony in front of Edgewood Estate, allowing the fountain, vineyard, and mountains to be their backdrop for guests to adore.

Inside the heated Sperry tent, guest cozied up for the evening and enjoyed some amazing food prepared by Richmond’s #1 caterer, Groovin Gourmets. Caitlin & Jack are foodies and it definitely showed by the menu they chose for their guests, including roasted lamb, Rockfish, braised pork chops & pumpkin sage ravioli.  And if that didn’t fill you, a dessert bar followed with delicious sweet treats.

What I will remember most from this wedding is Jack’s never ending smile.  I love the comment his Mother made of how all she could see when she looked at him was white from his white teeth shining so.  Nothing could make us happier here at Keswick Vineyards than to see the happiness from our couples and I definitely could see that clearly from Caitlin & Jack.

Thank you and thanks to the following vendors who did a terrific job: Caterer: Groovin Gourmets, Photographer Alicia White, Flowers by Natalie, Pastry Chef Taylor’s Sweets, Officiant Joy Andreason of Whispers of Joy, DJ Ran Henry, Hair & Make-up by Sass Factory, Event Planner Taylor Verrel, Albemarle Limousine for buses, MS Events for rentals & Skyline Tent Company.

Katie & Roger's Brisk Wedding Day

Congratulations to Katie & Roger who were married at Keswick Vineyards on Saturday, November 1st.

Katie’s brother was the officiant and it was such a personal and touching ceremony; one of my favorites to date. You could just feel the heartfelt message being said by her brother.  What a treat to be married by your brother.

Mother Nature provided a very windy and cold day for us but no rain!  The dramatic sky created some very dramatic photos that their photographer took and I can’t wait to share.  My favorite thing from this wedding, besides her brother doing the ceremony, was the “logo” they created with their first name initials and how they had it displayed throughout the reception.  I really love the cork shadow box they did and the awesome photo of the two of them (see in my photos below).

I definitely knew before this reception started that we were in for a fun, dancing night and I was right!  I must say I have been really impressed with the dancing ability of my recent grooms.  Speaking of dancing, one more favorite part for me was when Katie and her Mother did a dance together to Footloose.  What a special moment that was to see the two of them having so much fun on the dance floor together. I will remember that forever and I’m sure their guests will also.

Special thanks to the following vendors:  Caterer Groovin’ Gourmets from Richmond, DJ Mark Allen, Seth Roberts Photography, Colonial Florist, Hair & Make-up by Ruby Devine, Officiant Brent Cochran, Ambassador Limousine for transportation, Videographer Stephanie Sciarrino, Event Planner Maureen Monterubio, Skyline Tent Company and rentals by MS Events.

A Beautiful Fall Wedding for Lauren & David!

Lauren & David really hit the jackpot when it comes to weather.  They had one of the most perfect fall days to be married outside to. On Saturday, October 25th, Lauren & David were married at Keswick Vineyards.  The sun was out shining to keep everyone nice and warm while enjoying the spectacular fall colors in the vineyard and mountain side.

I love how they had their Yorkie dog in the ceremony. He was just adorable in his tuxedo! The wedding ceremony was extra special. Their officiant was very close friend of theirs that Lauren had asked to marry them even before she was ordained as a minister. Love the personal touch that adds to the ceremony.

After spending time out in the vineyard for photos, Lauren & David returned to the Sperry tent for their reception and enjoyed some amazing food by BBQ Exchange. The short ribs were out of this world!  DJ John Garland kept the party going while guests danced the night away.

Thanks to the following vendors for doing such an amazing job:  Caterer BBQ Exchange, DJ John Garland, Photographer Jen Fariello, Videographer Paul Hairston, Flowers by Hedge Florist, Pastry Chef Ashley from Charlottesville Cupcakes, Event Planner Angela Parker, Hair & Make-up by Amanda of Lou Stevens Glam Squad, Officiant Leslie Scanlon, Transportation by Albemarle Limousine, Rentals by MS Events & Skyline Tent Company.

Virginia & Patrick's Non-Stop Dancing Wedding

What a fairy tale wedding Virginia & Patrick had on Saturday, October 18th.

Ginny spent her morning getting ready at Keswick Vineyards for her off site church ceremony. She and her bridesmaids were swept away in a super stretch Hummer limousine and a vintage car. Ginny in her princess style wedding dress matched perfectly with that vintage car. It really was a fairytale as she left to meet her Prince Charming at the church. When they came back, they were husband and wife and were ready to party with their guests.

Virginia and Patrick chose the front of Edgewood Estate as the location for their cocktail hour. Guests enjoyed themselves as they mingled with one another while enjoying the beautiful fall view of the mountains and vineyard. Guests quickly warmed up once inside the heated Sperry tent that was decorated with hanging bistro lights through out the tent. C&O catering did an outstanding job keeping everything on schedule and serving such delicious meals.

Once dinner was over, this group was up on the dance floor and didn’t come off for 3 hours! There was just non-stop dancing for this wedding and what a fun night it was for everyone!

Special thanks to the following vendors for doing such an awesome job:  Keswick Vineyards as the Event Planner, Catering by C&O, DJ Greg Tutwiler, Photographer Elisa & Edward Bricker, Videographer Brad & Paul from Shaking Hands Productions, Florist Janie Medley, Hair & Make-up by Chelsi Woodson, Wedding Cake by Kathy Watkins of Favorite Cakes, rentals by MS Events & Skyline Tent Company and Albemarle Limousine for transportation.

Lauren & Justin's Wedding!

On Sunday, October 12th, Lauren & Justin were married at Keswick Vineyards by the former Mayor of Charlottesville, Dave Norris.  The ceremony was simply beautiful with the Southwestern Mountain backdrop adorn with the start of fall colors.  To top of the ceremony,  Lauren's brother played a beautiful song on his guitar.  Afterwards, while the guests were enjoying cocktail hour, the entire wedding party had some fun taking group photos.  As you can see, the guys really were a bunch of super hero hams!  I had just as much fun with the girls but those photos were taken on their camera so I can't share them but trust me, they were hilarious!  Guest dined on some delicious food prepared by BBQ Exchange and danced the night away under the direction of DJ Dennis Payne.  I love how the couple through out the evening would take their own "selfies" to remember their special moments.  Special thanks to the following vendors:  Caterer BBQ Exchange, DJ Dennis Payne, Photographer Jennifer Ling, Pastry Chef Paradox Pastry, Officiant Dave Norris, Hair & Make up by Moxie Salon, Rentals by Festive Fare and Skyline Tent Company.

Bethany & Ruben's "Dog" Wedding

Bethany & Ruben’s wedding ceremony  definitely went to the dogs!  On Saturday, October 11th, Bethany & Ruben were married at Keswick Vineyards surrounded by family, friends and LOTS of dogs!  This is the first time that I have seen a precession with a dog accompanying each wedding party couple.  These dogs did an amazing job and were so good for photos.  Scraps, our local mascot wedding cat, wasn’t as thrilled with these four dogs being here.  Thankfully we put her away while they were here or we really could of had some excitement!   Ruben is quiet the dancer.  He definitely wins the award for being on the dance floor the most.  You could just tell he loved it.  I really enjoyed it when the DJ and Ruben were getting down with their dance moves.  Bethany made good usage of wine corks that I haven’t seen used this way.  She put a hole through the cork and then tied a ribbon to a label that had the guests name on it at each table setting.  Simple yet very nice for a little winery touch to the decor.  I also really liked the plaid shirts the guys wore with their suits.  The purple colors mixed with grey just look so rich together.  And lets not forget about desserts!  So may different types of cupcakes to pick from and a lovely wedding cake with, of course, dogs on top of it!  Thanks to the following vendors for doing an outstanding job:  Caterer 20 South, Event Planner Cinda of White Birch Events, DJ Derek Tobler, Photographer Meg Runion, Florist Hedge Fine Blooms, Hair & Make-up by Anne Kibler from Charlottesville Makeup, Pastry Chef Kathy Watkins Favorite Cakes, Officiant Chuck Swim, Rentals by Festive Fare and Buses provided by Charlottesville High School.

Christine & Bill's Wedding Day

Congratulations to Christine & Bill who were married at Keswick Vineyards on Saturday, October 4th.  With this being the first wedding for our fall season, Mother Nature provided us with beautiful blue skies with a crisp chill in the air.  For the ceremony Christine & Bill included the blending of two sand colors to represent the blending of two into one.  I love the containers they had for this.  The guys looked extra sharp in their gray suits complemented with their Washington Redskin socks!  Special thanks to the following vendors:  Blue Ridge Catering, DJ Tony from NorCal ProSound, Photographer Tyler Corvin, Videographer Whiddon Productions, Aleen Floral Design, Hair & Make-up by Judy Hayward, Wedding Cake by Albemarle Baking Company, Officiant Pastor Brandon Jones, Event Planner Stephanie Muzzin and MS Events for rentals.
